My Experience

Busy Bees children’s nursery – July 2014 – July 2018
Early year's educator - I started as a relief member of staff, working in all the rooms of different ages of children. I was then given the position to work full time in the toddler room where I worked with children ages 2-3 years old. My main role was to ensure that each child was safe and happy whilst they engaged in coordinating play. Whilst working as part of the team, I delivered high standards of care towards the children where I ensured that each child's needs and preferences were met to their requirement. As part of my job I had my own key children where I organised and completed activities for each child that suited their stage of development. This also included doing observations, keeping records and assessing each child's learning and how they were developing within a deadline. With this I have gained many skills such as creative skills, being organised, time management and communication skills in listening and understanding the children. At times children got upset, especially when their parents or carers drop them off for nursery. I comforted and reassured the children to make them feel better whilst showing qualities of compassion and kindness towards them. Throughout each day, I communicated with the children's parents or carers, to discuss their child's learning development. I had built and maintained a professional, friendly and trusted relationship with the children's parent’s, which contributed to effective communication. Some days were very challenging and I had been in many challenging situations such as working with a child that has autism and comforting parents who were unsure of leaving their child. I have gained many skills for being in a challenging situation such as patience and thinking critically, that I believe are good qualities to have for future jobs.

I have recently done childminding as well. Picking children up from school, cooking dinner and looking after them until parents arrive home from work. Whilst doing this I engaged in a wide range of play to stimulate the children and I have experience in working with special needs children.

My Availability

I am only available to babysit now and again/ odd weekends and evenings. For example babysitting on a Saturday night for a family where the parents want to go out for a meal and spend time alone or they have an event like a wedding to attend.

• Babysitting from £10.00 per hour

weekdays £10hr
weekends £11.50hr
overnight stay £15hr
