My Summary
About Me
***Sorry I have no vacancies.***"
Graded Outstanding by Ofsted.
Hi my name is Heidi. I live in the Cheylesmore area of Coventry. I have been childminding for coming up to 19 years now. I child mind children between the ages of 1year to 11 years old.
I have a degree in Childhood and Youth studies from the Open University. We learn from each other and make it a caring environment.
My Experience
I have child minded children from a very young 6months to 15years. I have also child minded and continue to child mind children with different abilities be it due to their age or a difficulty they may have.
All children are included in all activities homework after school, craft activities, topic work in the summer holidays.
We do a lot of craft work; discussion and relationship building.
All early years children have their own diaries with photos showing what they have been doing. Parents are updated in the day via What's App. We have termly updates face to face. We go to several groups and parks. We feed the ducks and go out and about in the local area. I have my own sensory play tent so we have lots of light up equipment.
All early years children have their own planning; concentrating on their learning and development and ensuring that they are able to play with their peers as much as possible.
We do a lot of communication work encouraging vocabulary knowledge and social communication skills.
Before young children go to school or school based nursery every effort is made to make their transition as seamless as possible.
Every effort is made to ensure good communication and teamwork with parents. Without you all this is not possible
I undertake ongoing training throughout the year to keep up to date with the current requirements of the job.
I qualified as a SENCO and added a second degree to my History degree from Portsmouth University by adding a Childhood and Youth Studies from the Open University. I am therefore level 6 qualified in childcare.
All parents are Invited to come and see me to discuss theirs and their child's needs where an interest in the setting is made.

My daughter has been with Heidi since she was 9 months old - nearly 8 years now - and I have found Heidi to be consistently outstanding.
From the initial meeting with her I found Heidi to be thorough and diligent, and not only interested in what was best for my daughter but she fully considered what worked for me too. I am a single parent and when I returned to work full time I was working shifts and Heidi was always able to accommodate this and showed fantastic flexibility which was invaluable to me.
In terms of the care my daughter has received I have always found it to be of a very high standard and she has come to view Heidi’s house as a home from home, which is really important to me.
There have always been a wide range of innovative and engaging activities for my daughter to take part in based around different topics - Heidi has a very creative mind which makes this lots of fun as well - and I’ve always received lots of pictures of what my daughter has been up to which is just lovely.
Heidi is keen to ensure that children are supported to be independent and places great emphasis on practical skills as well as learning which is also really important to me and I can see the difference it has made to my daughter. As such my daughter was well prepared when she started school and Heidi has continued to support her learning as she progressed through the school years.
Heidi keeps me up to date with everything, and I know I am able to discuss any issues or concerns openly. Heidi has very clear and easy to understand policies for the setting, which has been especially important to me as a key worker during the pandemic as I have been very clear what safety measures are in place.
My daughter really enjoys going to Heidi’s and I am really happy with her care. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Carla, little A is a lovely girl. Usually the light and soul of the party. Always a joy and a foundation to the setting as she approaches her dotage in childcare terms.
Growing up fast! been a pleasure to watch her.
Thankyou for allowing me to be part of the audience.
Where do I start?
Heidi is so much more than a childminder. Archie has been going to Heidi since October 2020.
Archie had no speech at all, Heidi has helped me get Archie seen to by speech and language and Archie normally has difficulty in trusting people, but with Heidi he loves her and home and the children that attend. He has come on leaps and bounds and that is all down to Heidi, she even taught him how to do Makaton. Her setting is structered and he does loads of crafts. We are moving away soon and Archie is going to miss Heidi so much so will I as I know how well Archie took to her if only I could bring her with me! I cannot recommend Heidi enough she is amazing x

😊
Thankyou Rochene. Archie has persevered so much and really got on despite his lack of speech.
We are all going to miss Archie very much.
We wish you well in your move.
Heidi took on our 4 year old boy Jeremy, who was and still is, on a reduced time table in reception due to his Learnig difficulties and behavioural problems, Heidi was fantastic with Jeremy and although he was only there for a short period of time, she invested time into him, doing learning activities which really helped with his development, Jeremy is full of energy, does not listen and is very impulsive, this did not phase Heidi, she adapted to his needs and was calm, consistent, patient and did not let Jeremy get away with bad behaviour. Heidi also helped us along part of the process for getting help from the SEND team, this was due to our Nursery failing to notice his needs and not advising that he needed help or where to get it from. Heidi wrote a daily diary and report which has gone into Jeremy's portfolio as she is a SENDCo. Both me and my Girlfriend wish we had met Heidi years ago, she is a fantastic person, and we can't thank her enough, Jeremy really loves Heidi and always asks after her, which just shows how much of an impact she made in his life.
