My Summary

My Experience

Learning Support Assistant:

I am currently working as an LSA in a Primary school in South Bristol. I am working in year 3, supporting pupils with special educational needs and also raising attainment of higher level pupils.

Manager of a tuition centre:

I spent 14 months managing an Ofsted registered maths and English tuition centre for children from 4-14 years of age. I was responsible for the academic progress as well as the health and safety of 300 children. The centre focused on making learning fun and engaging, using creative and practical methods of teaching. As part of this role, I ran workshops in local schools and libraries for groups of children and have prepped pupils for entrance exams for secondary schools. I worked with children with a number of different learning difficulties and Special Educational Needs such as GDD, SpLD, ASC, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, EAL and EBD. I have current training in Paediatric First Aid.

Lifeguard at Billingshurst Leisure Centre:

I spent 2 years working as a lifeguard and while mainly responsible for the safety of pool users, this role also involved supervising children’s parties and assisting with disabled individuals or young swimmers in the pool. Working at the leisure centre, I was also involved in children's summer camps and birthday parties in the main sports centre.

Wakoo’s Centre4Children:

I worked for 3 months at a childcare and afterschool center where I was given the opportunity to interact with children from 5months up to 11years. I was not only responsible for their safety but was able to participate in a variety of activities from afterschool sports to creative art sessions.

Special Needs Volunteer:

I spent time volunteering in a special needs school in Coventry, where I ran art sessions for pupils aged 4-11 with Autism and Complex Learning Needs. In these sessions I helped children create sensory boards to engage them in learning.

Golf Club Creche:

I worked at the Golf club here for 5 years as a barmaid and waitress and also worked in the Creche with children from the ages of 6months - 15years of age. I assisted with the care of children as well as the organisation of activities.

Babysitter:

I worked as a baby sitter for a family with two young boys, aged 6months and 3 years. I looked after them after school and for the evenings including preparing meals.

AS:

Degree:
