I’m Charis I’m an ofsted registered child minder and mum. At a recent inspection I graded good in all areas. I live my husband Darren who is teaching assistant in a primary school and my boys Percy Herbie and Ernie

WHAT I OFFER

I provide full and part time spaces for pre-school children and out of school and holiday care for older children. Which allows your child to be looked after in caring family environment. I able too drop off and collect from Holy Trinity Blackley and moston Methodist playgroup. I can also offer the 15/30 hours free entitlement for 2,3 and 4 year olds.

For children under 5 I work under the guidelines laid out in the Early Years Foundation Stage, and look to work in partnership with parents to see children develop and achieve. The work I do has a focus on play and exploration, and takes into consideration children’s interests. Learning Journeys are kept to evidence activities with your children, keep track of process and ensure your child is achieving and developing in all areas. Planned activities and resources will be as much as possible adapted for individual’s children’s interest, needs and abilities.

For children over 5 I will work with parents to create a plan suitable for the child and family needs. I still feel play and adventure are key in this age group and contributes to learning and fun. I will offer various activities resources and seek to meet children’s interests, this can involve games, craft, imaginative play, books and general play I can offer space and support for children to do homework should a family wish this too happen.

Places I may visit

Consent will be sort to allow children to visit places and activities. The following activities will take place on a regular basis. Other activities when arranged will be discussed with parents and separate consent will be needed. (and additional charge may be in place for some additional trips.)

I regularly attend a toddler group on a Tuesday and a Thursday. This gives your pre-schooler opportunity to socialise with other children and experience different environment’s helping prepare them for school.

Regular trips to local parks allow children to explore, exercise and get fresh air.

Trips to north city library and Harpurhey Children’ s Centre will play a regular part in your child’s care. Giving them access to wider resources and experience part of the community.

Trips my also take place to North City Shopping Centre, and schools to pick up other children.
