About Me
Hi,
My name is Jo Woolner. I live with my 10 year old son, 7 year old daughter, 1 year old daughter, husband and our small dog in Alsager.
I currently work one morning a week at a local preschool. Before moving to the area I worked as an Ofsted registered childminder. Previous to this, I worked with adults with learning disabilities, a job I greatly enjoyed.
I have decided not to continue working as a childminder whilst I have young children of my own but I am looking to return to some childcare work now my maternity leave has finished, perhaps occasional nannying or even some casual babysitting.
My Experience
I have worked in a local preschool since 2019. Before this I worked as an ofsted registered childminder for almost 2 years after the birth of my son, stopping due to going on maternity when my older daughter was born and then moving area. My ofsted inspection rated me as good. Having worked in care for 8 years prior to this I am experienced in providing a caring and supportive environment whilst also dealing with the challenges of ensuring each individuals needs are met and keeping paper work up to date.
I have completed numerous courses including, amongst others, Paediatric First Aid, Epilepsy awareness, Safeguarding and Understanding Challenging Behaviour,
As a mother myself and with lots of babysitting experience I am happy and confident around children.
My Qualifications
I have a degree in Deaf Studies and Social Policy. This means I have a good understanding of BSL as well as being confident in the use of Makaton.
I have completed my CYPOP 5 (Setting up a homebased childcare business), have a paediatric First Aid qualification and have completed courses in Safeguarding and Food Hygiene.
My Availability
I can currently be fairly flexible in the hours I am available to work.
