About Me
Hello, I am a SEN tutor specialising in home learning, holding a BA (Hons) in Childhood and Youth Studies. I am also a certified Spanish teacher for foreign learners.
Before moving to England, I was born and raised in Spain. After my eldest son was identified with autistic traits and later with dysgraphia, I decided to further specialise in neurodevelopment and learning difficulties, an area I feel very passionate about.
For the past two years I have been working as a tutor for children with SEN, supporting them in Maths, English, concentration, attention, handwriting and social-emotional skills. Alongside this, I bring the experience and creativity from my years as a nanny, and as a mother of two children (currently in Year 3 and Year 7), I have practical insight into children’s needs at different stages.
I am currently looking for morning opportunities supporting children with home learning or homeschooling, particularly those with learning difficulties such as dyslexia, handwriting challenges, attention or maths skills. I aim to provide personalised support that helps each child progress at their own pace while building confidence and enjoying the learning process.
I am also open to taking on nanny work for a family a few hours a week, which could be combined with my tutoring hours.
My Experience
Before moving to England, I studied design and worked in the fashion industry in Spain. When I moved here, I started working as a nanny and have continued working in childcare and education ever since. Alongside this, I have experience working in schools, supporting children in after-school clubs.
For the past two years I have been working as a tutor for children with SEN, creating tailored activities to support their individual needs. I like to include neurodevelopmental exercises, designed to encourage better balance between the two brain hemispheres, which in turn supports concentration, reading, writing and overall learning. I also use sensory-based tasks and activities to strengthen attention, executive function and social-emotional skills. My approach is always to see the child as a whole, not just focusing on one area of difficulty but helping them build confidence across the different areas that are connected in their development.
In addition, I am also a mother of two boys, and I have twelve nieces and nephews, so I am very comfortable with children of all ages.
My Qualifications
BA (Hons) in Childhood and Youth Studies
Spanish equivalent to the UK’s Early Years Educator (Educación Infantil)
Trained in Montessori Method and Positive Discipline
Specialist in Early Intervention and Psychomotricity (University-level qualification)
Training in Neurodevelopment, Sensory Integration and Primitive Reflexes
Currently studying a Master’s in Learning Difficulties
My Availability
I am currently available Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 2:30pm, with occasional after-school sessions also possible, depending on the day and schedule. I am based in Henlow and can travel around 10–15 miles, depending on the hours.
