I love working with children, I find them so rewarding, I love my job it's a challenge and every day is different.

I have worked at Wyvern Nursery for 10/12 years in December and have gained lots of training and experience and loved every minute of it. I hope to continue to learn more in the near future. I also hope one day to put all my theory /training and experiences into practice to become a manager of my own Nursery.

I drive and have my own car, I love driving , it’s so rewarding to have my independence and Rely on myself.

I have always shown an interest in working with children, as a child growing up myself I have always been around children and find them very rewarding.

I have lots of hobbies these included :- riding, cooking, Sewing, knitting, swimming, going to the gym, walking, running , and most importantly dancing , I dance one evening a week at the YMCA call the Skylrk Dance Club, ) I also love reading, , I am currently reading a different book each time ) I also enjoy jogging, ( I am training up for the race for life that is taking place in July time) .

I studied at Ladymead Community School then went onto Bridgwater College for fours years to gain my Child Care Qualifications.

My Experience

My experiences:-

I have worked in Nurseries, Primary School, Pre-Schools, Nannying (private family) ,I took care of twins in their own home on a placement course at Bridgwater college, this was a challenge but very rewarding. I have worked at Musgrove park hospital (had the experiences to look after children with special needs). Seen things I have never seen before this was an experiences.

On my private family placement (baby placement) I had the chance to take the twins swimming classes, I had the opportunity to learn about different activities you can do with babies and children in the swimming pool.

We have had OFSTED Come and visit our nursery this was a challenging day but also a good experiences, We had a good OFSTED report and the day was very interesting and rewarding.

I have been in childcare settings while being at School, in (2006/2007 ) I visited a Nursery settings and a School setting to experiences my interest.

While at Bridgwater College I traveled to Prague to visit a School and a Nursery , I had the opportunity to work with children with different believes, religious backgrounds and cultures. This was very interesting and a good experiences for me.

I was then nominated for my picture in Prague to be blown up onto a poster and placed on the display board at Bridgwater College. I felt very proud.

I use to work at Wyvern Nursery and have been working there for 11/12 years in December, I am a Nursery Nurse with Key children and find my job very rewarding, I love being a key worker, I find my job is a different experiences every day.

I have also had the experiences to take the children out on a Forest School trip, this gives me the chance to bond with the children, and for the children to build their trust in me, I have been trained to take my own group of children out to build fires, saw wood and create dens and build on the children's team work.

I will be creating my own Forest School, small group time with my children to develop their skills in the outside world.

I love having a good relationship with the children, I feel this is really important.

I have had the opportunity to baby sit for family relatives and friends, a hobby I really enjoy, having the chance to have one-to-one with a child is a blessing.

Having the opportunity to take the children/ child out for a day trip is a feeling of excitement. Knowing I am going to make them happy makes me happy.

While studding at Bridgwater College I also had the opportunity to have cooking lessons with the children, we made cakes that we sold for a fund raising charity.

I helped out at Bridgwater College Nursery to look after the children in the Children's Centre Nursery.

I had two different occasions when I was given the opportunity to have a virtual baby, (a plastic dolly) to look after for a weekend (three nights) and two/three days while studding at Bridgwater College. It was programmed to feed, sleep and have a nappy changed. (I was successful in this challenge) .

While I was working at Wyvern Nursery I have also taken part in Bumbles that is being held on Friday mornings. This gives the children a chance to have physical play on the bouncy castle .This I very much enjoy as I get to play and interact with the children while playing on the bikes and the climbing frames.

I have been on training courses this includes staff meetings and gained lots of experience and learnt a lot in this period of time, I hope to continue learning in the future.

I feel very blessed to be a Nursery Nurse.
