About Me
Hi there and thanks for checking out my profile. I'm an experienced, qualified early years teacher and have worked with children for over 18 years. I have a one year old daughter and before having her was a Deputy Head in a prep school. For anyone who knows about Pregnant Then Screwed, you will know that the struggle is real! I'm looking for nanny roles, holiday nanny positions, babysitting or school drop offs etc. I would be especially interested to hear from families who don’t mind my own baby coming along in the daytime.
I have also set up a number of Early Years settings in the past and therefore have experience with babies. For those interested in particular pedagogy, I ran a Montessori nursery for 4 years, but like to think I’m quite Frobelian in my approach to childcare and learning!
Through working in schools, I have taught children up to 11 years old and am very experienced in preparing for entrance exams as well as casual tutoring to help keep children up to speed in the ever changing curriculum demands!
My Experience
As above, I have vast teaching and nanny experience, working with a range of children, including children with SEN for over 18 years. Having said that, I’m still young and energetic!
Having first qualified in 2005 with an BTEC Level 3 in Early years, I then obtained a BA Hons in Early Years and then a postgraduate degree in Early Years Teaching. I have held many senior leadership and teaching positions in a range of nurseries and schools, working with children aged 0-11. I have also tutored children at 7+ and 8+ level to support entrance examinations.

I needed a babysitter last minute for my 14month old few hours in the evening as we had a Christmas party in Brighton. Kirsty was very responsive with all my questions,as this was the first time I left my daughter with babysitter outside family.
She instantly bonded with the baby and the baby didn’t even cry when we left her in the room!
She also turned up half an before in the hotel to give sometime to bond herself with the baby.
Also we extended the babysitting hour and although Kirsty has a young baby she was very accommodating with the request.
Overall very good experience and will highly recommend.

Was so happy to discover Kirsty on this site, we're relatively new to the area so weren't sure where to begin with childcare. We've got an energetic but also sensitive 8 year old and Kirsty developed such a quick rapport with her, and was in touch ahead of the booking to suggest activities for the day. My daughter described her as "kind and playful" and can't wait to see her again. Definitely a reliable and experienced babysitter (with a background in education to boot), wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

I am very tempted not to leave a review as it means Kirsty will be less likely to work for us again, but anyway. Kirsty is fantastic. She is extremely organised and competent. She immediately found out what our children (4 and 7) liked and planned a range of activities around them, which they really enjoyed. She formed an immediate rapport. She had a great balance between being gentle and motivating them to get on with things. I felt the children were completely safe with her. She was always on time and very professional, and needed very little input from us. We would all highly recommend her.

Kirsty does tutoring and babysitting for our 2 boys aged 11 and 8 and they adore her. She immediately built a strong rapport with them both and tailors her tutoring to their own interests to get the best out of them. I would definitely recommend Kirsty to anyone whose children are struggling in school and need a bit of extra help. I guarantee she will make it fun and interesting for them.
