About Me
I am 32 years old, I currently work with young children with profound and complex needs in the Bromley borough. I have a dedicated love and passion for working with children and thrive in assisting them to make a successful transition onto their adulthood life.
I am also a mummy to a loving busy 2 year old toddler. During my spare time when I am not working amongst children I love to travel the world, I have a keen interest in exploring different cultures and traditions,throughout my travel experiences I have visited many areas of the world including Europe,Africa, America and the Caribbean next on my agenda is Asia! On the weekend i enjoy socialising, theatres, dining and partaking in church activities.
My Experience
I have experience of working with children both in a formal and informal environment. I have worked voluntarily as a nursery assistant; my daily duties consisted of assisting with growth and development (feeding themselves, using the toilet independently, wiping noses, role play etc) and encouraging educational play (reading books, practicing phonics numeracy and storytelling). Over the past few years I have had a lot of involvement in the care of my sibling who has ADHD and is mildly autistic, caring for him has proved to be extremely demanding and time consuming but through it has been an enlightening and fulfilling experience as it has educated and enhanced my understanding of the disability. I have the know-how of constructing IEP'S for those pupils identified as having a SEN, I can successfully support children on a 1:1 basis and as a group, offering specialist help i.e. with translating for those who speak English as an additional language, assist with reading and writing, helping pupils with concentration, following instructions and behaving in a responsible manner, clarifying learning objectives, organisation of work, and assisting with the proper use of resources.
I have a keen interest in assisting children achieve their full potential irrespective of their starting point in life diversity, differences in age, gender, religion or culture etc. I believe every child should be given equal opportunities with the vision of becoming employed in a career with good prospects and with the right intervention all children can achieve this. I have wholehearted belief that intellect is not fixed and that there is always ways to improve with the right support given.

Jerina looked after my kids after school for nearly two years. She was super-reliable, the kids loved her - I knew that everything was OK when she was going to be with them. Plus, she's a lovely person, very trustworthy and lovely to work with. We were all so sorry when she moved away from our part of town and wouldn't be with us any more.
