About Me
I am an enthusiastic, resilient and empathetic 25 year old person-centred counsellor. I am looking to join a family as a full-time or part-time nanny to work along side my counselling job. I have a can-do attitude to all my work and would be willing to undergo any training desired. I have always wanted to work with children and I aspire to support children and young people in my future career. I have worked with children in a 1:1 setting for the past four years, specifically with children with special educational needs.
My Experience
I have worked as a personal tutor for a 10 year old boy with diagnosed Autism, PDA, SPD, Dyslexia and ADHD for over 2 years. I teach a variety of subjects with a main focus on his Social, Emotional Mental Health. The role was based in the family home, which has meant that I have build a strong relationship with the student and his family. The role also includes extracurricular activities, for example, Rebound Therapy every week. Due to the student’s special needs, creativity in this role is key. I develop new, exciting and innovative ways to learn and play, in order to increase active engagement.
I worked as a volunteer counsellor at ChildLine where I counselled distressed young people.
Before university, I baby sit for families in my local area. (Ages 3-12).
