About Me

My name is Victoria, and I am a highly experienced and qualified primary school teacher with over 25 years of working within the childcare and education sector.
Since gaining my teaching degree in 2012, I have taught across all year groups and all national curriculum subjects, and I have extensive knowledge of preparing children for all national statutory assessments and 11+ exams. Throughout my career, I have honed my teaching skills and have developed an approach that allows me to create a learning environment that engages, motivates, and challenges pupils' learning, so that they can flourish into confident, resilient, and successful learners.
As a teacher, I believe that it is my responsibility to create a positive learning environment where every child feels valued, respected, and supported. I have a warm and approachable manner, and I am committed to building positive relationships with children and their families.

My Experience

April 2022 - To Present - PPA Teacher. I currently work as a PPA teacher, and I am responsible for working alongside all teachers to deliver a broad range of National Curriculum subject lessons to whole classes. This role requires me to have an extremely flexible approach to teaching, as I teach across the curriculum subjects and year groups. I am responsible for effectively marking and assessing these lessons and ensuring that class teachers are made aware of progress and any misconceptions that may have needed addressing.

Nov 2019 - March 2022 - PPA/SEN intervention teacher. During this role I was responsible for working alongside all teachers to deliver a broad range of National Curriculum subject lessons to whole classes. This role required me to have an extremely flexible approach to teaching, as I taught across the curriculum subjects and year groups. I was responsible for effectively marking and assessing these lessons and ensuring that class teachers were made aware of progress and any misconceptions that may have needed addressing. Additionally, I was responsible for working with individual children and small groups delivering a variety of activities and interventions. This included all National Curriculum subjects and personalised plan targets, such as, speech and language, social communication and emotional well-being. Additionally, I was responsible for delivering specialised intervention programmes such as Lego therapy, Sensory Circuits, and BEAM. I effectively liaised with class teachers, the SEND department, and outside agencies to ensure that the activities I planned, resourced, and delivered not only meet all their educational targets but that they enabled progress.

Sept 2018 - Nov 2019 - Nanny. This position involved caring for a young child who had complex behavioural special needs. I was responsible for ensuring all his daily needs were met, liaising with his school, and supporting any additional activities. This position ended as I returned to teaching.

Feb 2016 - Sept 2018 - During this time, I was a stay-at-home mother.

Sept 2015 - Jan 2016 - Nanny. This position involved caring, on a sole charge basis, for twins aged 7 years old before and after school. I was responsible for ensuring the children’s daily personal needs were met, preparing their breakfast, and evening meal, supervising homework, and ensuring they were fully prepared for their school day in addition to taking them to extracurricular activities. Unfortunately, the family relocated, and this position was no longer viable.

Sept 2012 - Dec 2013 - Primary School teacher. I was the class teacher for years 3 and 4. My responsibilities included planning and resourcing cross-curricular lessons which engaged, motivated, and inspired the children. I was responsible for assessing and monitoring the children’s progress and attainment, adapting my teaching and lessons accordingly to ensure progress was made. I worked effectively within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that all the needs of the children were met and implemented a range of intervention strategies to support varying needs. I developed effective working relationships with parents/carers, feeding back on their child’s progress, development, and any areas of concern on an informal and formal basis. I was actively involved in all aspects of school life, for example planning and organising trips, running after-school clubs, class assemblies, sports day, end of year drama productions and church events.

Feb 2005 - Jan 2007 - Recruitment Consultant for a childcare agency. I was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the office to include among many tasks, often being the first point of contact. I was responsible for interviewing potential candidates, documenting their personal files, considering them for vacancies, arranging interviews, negotiating terms of employment and where necessary, promoting their self-esteem to maximize their potential. I worked closely with parents to determine their requirements, I then reacted accordingly, always maintaining contact, collecting feedback on a candidate's performance and suitability, until a desirable outcome was achieved. Further to this, I was accountable for successfully placing candidates within the nursery sector, having confirmed that they were proficient in the Ofsted requirements. I regularly visited the nurseries in our area, liaising with managers to establish effective links. Through extensive training and working in partnership with my employers, other branches, and outside agencies, I was instrumental in providing a thriving service.

Sept 1996 - Jan 2005 - Sole charge full time nanny. Responsible for 3 children from new-born to 8 years. During this position, my main responsibility was to provide a safe, stimulating, loving and fun environment for the children within my care. I achieved this through being flexible and responsive to their needs, whilst maintaining clear boundaries. One of my key aims was to encourage their social, emotional, and physical development, which I accomplished through arranging indoor and outdoor activities, on a one-to-one basis and with other children. I was responsible for all aspects of the children’s health and welfare from birth, to include all hospital, doctor, and dentistry appointments as well as regular health checks. As the children grew older, I ensured that they settled well into school life and supported their educational needs wherever necessary.
