My Summary

My Experience

My name is Tate, i'm 25 years old and I love working with children, I have experience with all ages including with with special needs and disabilities.

I have also previously worked part time and full time for various families as a nanny both in the UK and abroad. Duties included picking children up from school, cooking, bath times, bed times and various activities. One of the children I looked after was a 3year old boy with Cerebral Palsy. As well as looking after children/helping families , I was also a PA for a 21 year old Paralympic athlete also with cerebral palsy, duties included personal care, driving, shopping, cleaning and cooking.  


I have also spent a few years working in the UK with a Special Needs Social Group called Step Together. Step Together look after young adults between the age of 16 and 30. We go on daily outings and do different activities everyday in order to keep the group fit and build up their confidence. We work with a range of needs from; Down-syndrome, Asperger's, Autism and Anxiety.


During previous summers I have spent the season working and living on the site at Liquid Leisure. Liquid Leisure is an outdoor water sports complex including a boat lake, wakeboard cable, and the biggest aqua park in the world. I was employed as a Supervisor and Special Needs Co-ordinator, on the aqua park. My duties were; organising large groups of up to 400 people every hour- this included ensuring they had all they're safety equipment and had been safety briefed, Making and writing the staff daily rota, and making sure everyone was given breaks, looking after any special needs individuals that came through the park - this included 1 to 1's on the aqua park. Whilst working here I also had opportunities to, help out on the wake board cable, organise the children's party's, and also help in the bar and kitchen.


I have also worked at various summer camps over the past few years including a special needs, disabled and mainstream summer camp in Chicago USA, where I worked as a Lifeguard, Overnight Camp Councillor and also a Swim Teacher. I got to work closely with various age groups and disabilities as well as build relationships with every person at camp, this was where i got my passion for working with special needs children and adults.

As well as Camp America i have worked at a day camp (Super Camps) as a Activity Instructor and RAW Adventure Specialist. Again i loved every moment of this, especially working on RAW and being outside whatever the weather in the mud and dirt building fires and making camps.

I am a happy bubbly character and with a big personality and an even bigger heart.


I am also First Aid Trained and DBS checked, life guard qualified and know basic sign language as well as being trained with epilepsy 

I am currently studying an online level 3 and 4 diploma in Advanced Special Needs Education.
