About Me
Hello, my name is Deborah and I have recently moved to London to pursue a Masters degree on Sustainable Cities from King's College. I was born in Mexico, my parents are both Spanish, and when I was 12 years old I moved to the United States. As you can see I have a mixture of cultural backgrounds which enabled me to learn three languages fluently and also opened up my eyes to the world. I come from a large family, so I have lots of experience with kids as well as teenagers, and growing up I was the neighbourhood babysitter.
I have a BS in Geosciences and three years of work experience under my belt. As I had mentioned before I will start my postgraduate studies at King's College and I am looking for a part time job that will help with my living expenses.
My Experience
From the age of 14 until 21 I babysat the kids in my neighbourhood (references can be provided upon request), I also grew up with 4 sisters and helped my mother around the house.
After graduating from University, with a degree in Geosciences, I began working for the number one silver producer mining company, Fresnillo PLC, as an exploration geologist in the deserts of Sonora, Mexico. In 2014 I joined the Mexican Cooperation Agency for International Development (AMEXCID) where I was Chief of Sustainable Development and was in charge of the United Nations Initiative for Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM). This Initiative aims to maximize the economic, social and environmental benefits derived from the use of geospatial information, based on the knowledge and the exchange of experiences and technologies from different countries, and thus allowing the establishment of a Spatial Data Infrastructure in the region of the Americas.
My Qualifications
BS in Geosciences from the University of Texas, graduated with a 2:1
Currently pursuing a MSc in Sustainable Cities from the University of King's College
My Availability
Currently available full time. Starting on August 21st I will have a set school schedule (I will update my profile accordingly).
