As part of my training to become a nursery assistant I worked with children ages 3 months to 18 months. Perivale Primary School, Alperton
September 2008- April 2009
While studying for my qualification in childcare and education level 2 I undertook a placement with children initially ages 4-5 years old and later, children 3-4 years. My role in this setting was to interact and play with children and help them with their all-round development. I also planned activities, and engaged in reading, singing and, creative activities with the children as well as snack time and various other child care duties. During my time at this placement I developed many new skills that I have been able to use in my practice to date. I worked successfully in a team environment and was able to use my own initiative.
Bluebell Nursery, Alperton
February 2006- March 2006
As part of my two week school work experience, I worked with children aged 2-4years. In this role I read, sang and did artwork with the children. We also did outdoor activities; for example, going to the library and playing in the garden. When we went for visits I helped the children with their socks and shoes. Finally I supervised the children when they went toilet, making sure they washed their hands and flushed the toilet. I helped with food preparation, feeding, and putting the children to sleep.
