Hello,
My name is Katie and I am a Early Years Practitioner. I hold a Level Three in Early Years Education, I am Paediatric First Aid Trained and DBS checked with a clear record.
I have an approach to childcare as someone the children in my care can trust, look up to and see me as a positive person in their life. It’s also important to me that I have a trusting relationship with parents where I am given a clear idea of what they want me to do when looking after their children. All the parents I have babysat for I have had very good relationships with and I feel this is what’s important when it comes to looking after children!

My Experience
My experience in childcare is 13 years. I am qualified in Level 2 childcare and Level 3 Childcare - Early Years Educator where I have completed a year in working in a school based nursery working with three to five year olds and I have been trained at Rainbows Nursery, Totnes, where I worked with four month olds to five year olds. I currently work at an Ofsted Outstanding nursery in Exeter and have been there for four years working with 1.5-3 year olds.
Aside from training I have also looked after an infant who at the time was four months old and I looked after him until he was six months old. Whilst looking after him I was responsible for giving him bottles, changing his nappies, entertaining him with songs, toys and being someone for him to play with during his time where he relied on adults for entertainment.
I have also had experience in babysitting from the age of fifteen where the ages I have babysat for have been from two years old to seven years old.
I have also had experience in religious based toddler groups where parents bring their children and stay for coffee and cake whilst their children socialise with other children and then are read faith based stories and take part in faith based activities. I have been volunteered at Sparklers for about two years. Leaving to study and the ages were from newborn who are normally with parents to four years old. Mainly I have worked with the babies where I look after him if their parents want to talk.
