Hello! My name is Shannon, I’ve been in childcare since 2013. Mainly working alongside preschool ages and babies. I am a mother to two lovely children.
I started my childcare journey through a nursery, here is where I realised my passion for teaching young children, over the years I have had the experience of working as a nanny and in a childminding setting.
I am happy to help with house work of any kind. Also have an excellent understanding of the EYFS.
My Experience
November 2020- present
I am currently working as an unqualified bank team member in a nursery rated outstanding by ofstead.
June 2018 - October 2019 nursery assistant.
February 2019 - April 2019 temporary after school nanny.
March 2017 - August 2017
Temporary nanny, sole care for a young toddler. my responsibilities included: making daily trips to a nearby by park, organizing messy play and craft ideas, musical activities, preparing lunch and assisting with nap times.
May 2017 - June 2017
Childminding assistant, my role was to assist with daytime observation of the younger children, preparing messy play, games and educational activities. i would accompany the children to a local park, then in the afternoon assist with school pick ups. light housework and maintaining hygiene
September 20th - 9th December 2016
Child minder assistant. In the day time I help look after and play with the younger children ages 8 months - 2 years, also changing nappies and preparing meals. In the afternoon I would collect a few children from a local school. After the school run, I would engage in educational and fun craft activities with the children.
2013 - 2016
Private day care nursery. I worked with younger babies and toddlers for the majority of my time there. my duties included interacting at play and meal times, with around the clock craft and messy play activities. myself and colleagues would take the the children out to the garden regularly especially when the weather was good. I also observed the children in their development as well as helping with designing and creating display boards for the children's work.
My Qualifications
I am currently under going a level 2 in childcare apprenticeship.
My Availability
I have selected the 5 days a week of availability however I am only looking for part time as my husband works full time too and we rely on family for childcare.
