My Experience

My own children are 25 and 28 and I have supported them both through their education and both are very successful within their chosen careers. One of my children has dyslexia and teaching/supporting her required completely different skills to teaching/supporting my Son who found the whole academia very much easier and is now a successful Lawyer in London. I took my skills and passion into the classroom and have supported many different children with a huge variety of learning needs. I have a great deal of professional experience in all SEN work and particularly in dyslexia. I am very experienced at 1:1 work. I have taught KS1 to KS4 and believe a multi sensory approach alongside the traditional methods helps youngsters learn in a much quicker and fun way. I believe having confidence means the children develop essential skills needed for life long learning. From my own experience with all the children I have taught, this is notoriously low and through my fun, relaxed classes this is an area I build. I also then teach the children how to take their newly learnt skills to paper, in order that they are able to write the knowledge down for both normal lessons or within a test/assessment.
I can carry out assessments following the national curriculum if required which then allows me to ascertain which areas that need focused teaching which means any potential weaker areas can be focused on in order to increase the child’s attainment.
I can also teach according to personal requirements. ie work sent home from school as home learning or other personal requests.
