My name is Tegan.
I have a 2:1 degree in Education Studies and have a great depth of experience within the education sector. I worked in this field alongside studying and have continued to do so since graduating. I have worked as a: Play Worker, Learning Mentor, Cover Teacher, Private Tutor, Nanny and Nursery Nurse.
I currently work for the NHS as a Nursery Nurse. I enjoy looking after the children of Key Workers. I also like working in a professional environment.
I have experience in the following age range: 3 months- 11 years.
I have school experience. I have tutored children in Reception, Key Stage 1 and 2. I create a safe space for children where it is okay for them to make mistakes. I believe that making mistakes and problem-solving encourages a growth mindset.
I have passed Qualified Teacher Skills tests in literacy and numeracy.
I have experience of working with children who have complex needs. I have worked for a charity that provides respite care, to children who have autism. Some of the children were non-verbal and had to be worked with on a 1:1 basis. They would enjoy sensory based activities.

I have experience of working with children who have special educational needs. I have worked at a playscheme for children with autism. I also have experience of working with children who have English as an additional language.
Alongside my university studies I worked as a Learning Mentor. I worked with children who were studying for their GCSEs on a 1:1 basis. I helped the students with revision techniques, study skills and with college applications. This job involved me having to plan individual sessions for each child to meet their specific needs.

My Availability
Evenings and weekends.
I do not drive but am confident in travelling to locations on the bus. I also have a fiancé who has a car and helps me with lifts.
I would be willing to leave my current role for nannying work in the week. Please note I am very interested in this kind of work. I am happy to commute. I do not drive but if offered a nannying role, I would be willing to have automatic driving lessons if necessary.
