About Me
My name is Megan and I am fun loving, friendly, sociable person who has a lot of patience, initiative and good communication skills.
I started my caring career opposite to the one I'm now trying to persue, looking after the elderly in Care homes.
I began as a cleaner, I then became a cook, I then began to feed them when they couldn't do it themselves and knew I wanted to do more to help. I pushed myself towards being a Care assistant.
However working with children has always been a huge passion of mine, after all, children are the future, and being the lucky one enough to mould and teach young minds is, a huge responsibility, but a greater honour.
I believe that both jobs are very similar, the personal care of showering and changing.
The organisation and support with social and physical needs. Monitoring health such as body weight, food consumption and dispensing of medication.
Most importantly people with little, to no mental capacity trusting in me to do right by them.
My Experience
I have an NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care which I earned whilst working in a Care home.
I have three beautiful Godsons who I have regularly looked after, from new born to 4 years.
I shortly lived with my friend and her family, regularly looking after her three children, one of whom is Autistic so I have a lot of experience with working children with disabilities!
I also volunteer helping my local towns new project of getting younger people into football on Saturdays, this age group ranging from 4-12
This will be my first time Nannying job, however I feel like I'm ready to take on the challenge of being a role model and teacher to a young mind. I have been looking after my neice (2) and nephew (4) for the past year on Fridays to support my brother with childcare, and feel I have gained so much experience and knowledge from this.
My Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 in Care
First Aid trained
BTEC and diploma in Performing arts
