About Me
My name is Desyree Smalley, I am a registered and Care Inspectorate approved Childminder based in Fauldhouse West Lothian. I live with my fiance Aaron, our daughter Penny and our dog Brodie, who is a border collie, Brodie is extremely friendly, loves to play and is very good with all children. Brodie is 11 years old but still thinks hes a puppy.
We have recently bought our own home and live in one of the bottom houses in a 4 in a block terrace.
we have an enclosed front and back garden where children can enjoy some outdoor play with toys and games, we also have a play area for children inside which has a variety of toys, games and other activities that will suit your child's age group.
When my fiance and I moved to this area (Fauldhouse) we loved it and I thought it was very suitable to do what I know Id love and become a Childminder, I love babysitting and I am always looking for new challenges. This life style fits very well now that we have a family of our own.
I am a very friendly, honest and an out going person that you can approach at anytime.
I am happy to discuss anything to do with your child's care and will always provide you with feedback and updates about your child/children through conversations face to face, via telephone.
I am a very creative and enthusiastic person with very high energy.
My Experience
I am a mother to a beautiful baby girl who is now 10 months old.
I have always worked with children and I have a lot of experience with children of all ages from new-borns and on wards.
Since I was very little Ive always wanted to work with children. When I was in high school I started to babysit for my neighbours and also worked in my schools creche. I left school and then continued my education in college where I studied 2 years of early education and childcare, during this time I continued babysitting for family and friends, I took placements in different nurseries, and I also worked voluntary in a pre-school and after school club.
To earn a little extra I applied for a receptionist job for a swimming company called Mighty Swimmers, My boss seen potential in me and was very impressed with how well the children coming in and out of the building reacted towards me and she offered to train me up to teach children of all ages how to swim. I've now been a swimming teacher for 6 years and have taught children from the ages of 6 months old and on wards.
My Qualifications
I have completed and hold certificates for Intermediate 1&2 Early Education and Childcare Courses.
I have completed a Level 1 Aquatics and Teaching course.
I have completed and hold certificates for a Child Protection Course.
I have completed the Scottish Child Minding Association (SCMA) Induction Course.
I have a current P.V.G which is part of the mandatory Care Inspectorate registration process.
I will as an ongoing learning process, be attending other relevant courses through out the year that will enhance your child's time with me.
