My name is Lydia and I offer an Ofsted registered childminder service from my lovely home in Queen's Park, London W10.
I am joined each day by Dale who is a fantastic male childminder offering creative and active play. He has worked with me for 12 years and we make a great team. We also have an assistant named Joana who joins us 4 full days a week. Our childcare business is named 'A Home to Grow' and caters for children of all ages.
We are both fully registered, trained and qualified OFSTED childminders and have both been individually awarded the highest rating OUTSTANDING. We have recent First Aid, Food Hygiene and Child Protection training.
We have many years experience of working in schools, nurseries and various children's charities. We absolutely love working with children of all ages and believe we offer an environment that reflects this, full of fun, active and educational activities.
I am a level 4 higher level teaching assistant and Dale has a level 3 distinction in Child Development and Education.
We do many educational adult-led activities and child led free-play on a daily basis which develops areas of learning in literacy, communication, physical exercise, crawling and walking, pen control, numeracy, art and design, knowledge of the World, personal, social and emotional development.
My sweet Victorian home is adapted to contain a learning nursery room, lounge for rest, dining area and a safe back garden. We have lots of resources for all age groups including a fully stocked nursery room, play house, activity sheets, toys, games and baby equipment.
We provide weekly emails containing photos so parents can see what we have been doing and how happy their children are and for children under 4 we complete daily logs for all activities they have done, food they have eaten, sleeps they have had, nappy changes and any comments we have on their development or something cute they did or said.
I have two lovely, well-mannered daughters aged seventeen and fourteen years old and two very sweet miniature dogs. My daughters are wonderful, sweet girls who play with the children when they are available. I also live with my partner who is a lawyer in the city and although he isn't home when children are here, he is DBS checked.
We are open every weekday from 8am - 6.30pm and currently care for up to 8 children daily aged 6 months to 6 years and we are happy to take childcare employee reward vouchers or 15 hour free education grants as part payment.

We left our son four days a week for a year with Lydia and Dale and his progress and development within that time was outstanding. He made lots of very close friends and we will all really miss everyone at A Home to Grow, thank you so much for everything you have done!! xx
My son is attending A Home To Grow 1 year almost. Excellent place. I am so grateful to Lydia and Dale for attention, care and love which they are giving. I feel very calm and safe about my son. Thank you for your help always.
I was dreading going back to work but I needn’t have worried as our daughter loves everyday she spends with Lydia and Dale. They provide a warm, nurturing and fun environment which is clear to see from my daughter’s excitement on arriving each morning!
Lydia sends us daily diaries and weekly photos to keep us informed of what they have been up to and eaten each day (3 meals, plus 2 snacks are provided which makes life so much easier not having to provide a packed lunch!)
I couldn't recommend A Home To Grow enough, my daughter is so happy there.
My daughter has been coming her for almost a year now. Dale and Lydia are great, very kind and strike the right balance between lots of fun and educational activities and lots of cuddles! I was worried when I knew I would have to leave my daughter with someone when I went back to work, but she seems to love it with them- would highly recommend!
Lydia and Dale have created a very friendly environment for little ones to grow. Our son stayed with them for a little over a year from 8 months to 21months and had been very happy. He made lot of little friends and play and learn a lot always being encouraged to learn and participate in educative activity without being pressured. I really think it was a nice balance, a lot of activity were proposed everyday. So it is not your usual childminder environment, more like a mini nursery but with a more personalised and flexible approach. They do daily report with all activity and menu of the day. We were worry to move and not be able to find an as good childcare options. Feel free to get in touch if you want to know more. Wish all the best to Home to grow with a lot of growing babies to look after.
