About Me

Welcome to our page and we hope you like what you read,

We were named 10th best childminders in the UK by the Daily Mirror and the Babysitter of the Year by Childcare.co.uk!

My name is Lydia and I offer Ofsted registered childminder services from a lovely home in Kensal Rise, London. This profile is for a Hanover Road setting. I have been a childminder since 2011 and working with children for since 1998.
I am joined each day by my assistants who I adore and the children do too. Together, we are ’A Home to Grow' and all staff are highly qualified, experienced and regulated.

We offer a safe but fun environment with loving care and moral guidance all in our jungle play room. Together, we are ’A Home to Grow' and have been a setting for 8 years.
Together we have been rated one of the top ten childminders in the UK by the Daily Mirror, Babysitter of the Year 2018 by Childcare.co.uk and a Nominee for 2019 London Enterprise Award.

Each day children get to experience creative play amongst our many toys and enjoy group learning active to teach life skills, academics or about the world. We email you a log each day to show what the children have been doing and email photos each week. Children become very excited to see what we do each day! We enjoy lots of messy play and have daily story times, sing songs and trips to the park, play groups or library.

I am a fully registered OFSTED childminder and have recent First Aid, Food Hygiene and Child Protection training. I have many years experience of working in schools, nurseries and various children's charities and absolutely love working with children of all ages and believe we offer an environment that reflects this, full of fun, active and educational activities.

I have a Level 5 Diploma/Foundation Degree in Children's Studies, a Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant and a Level 3 distinction in Child Development and Education. We do many educational adult-led activities and child led free-play on a daily basis which develops areas of learning in literacy, communication, physical exercise, crawling and walking, pen control, numeracy, art and design, knowledge of the World, personal, social and emotional development.

This large Victorian house is adapted to contain 2 learning nursery rooms, separate baby sleep room, dining area and a large back garden. We have lots of resources for all age groups including a fully stocked nursery room, play house, activity sheets, toys, games and baby equipment.

I have two lovely, well-mannered daughters aged twenty and seventeen years old, an adorable young baby and a very sweet miniature dog. My daughters are wonderful, sweet girls who play with the children when they are available. Lauryn is doing a Biochemistry Degree, achieved 12 A's on her GCSE's and has worked at Charing Cross Hospital. Tia is training to be a vet and already has a distinction in small Animal Care Level 3. I am a loving mum but I do adore academics and being productive! I also live with my wonderful husband who is a lawyer in the city and although he isn't home when children are here, he is DBS checked.

Open Every Day 8am - 6pm for children aged 2 months to 12 years.

We are very excited for you to come and visit us soon!!

I have been with this childminders now for the last few months and am always surprised at how welcoming they are and how nurturing they seem to be. My son is so happy there and doesn't want to leave when I pick him up.
I couldn't imagine him being better anywhere else.

Lydia and the team looked after our 3 yo for a year, they did an amazing job. Our daughter absolutely loves Chloe and Lidya, and so do we, they are really nice people and really have never said no to a single request we've made. Really accommodating, which is great for working parents. They go out most days and do lots of activities, which is great. Our little one was quite clumsy for her age when she started (gross motor skills clumsy) and we've seen a huge improvement this year, i think this is due to lots of outdoor activities. The setting is going through an expansion, which is great and I look forward to seeing what the new areas will be like, but as our girl has now reached 3+ she will move to a big children nursery attached to the school we are hoping she'll attend next year. I wish Lydia, Chloe and the rest of the team all the very best!

The environment that the children were playing in was absolutely lovely and not to mention the staff were so warm and comforting to the children. I was delighted with the way the children were looked after and stuck to a solid routine which I think is vital. Lydia, I think, has an excellent grasp on children's needs and manages the bustling environment with ease but as a mother of three I know it really isn't that easy! I would love to send my children here.

Lydia and her team are so caring and do everything they can to make our child and us comfortable. They make the most lovely wall displays with all the children's art and we are daily given personalised books with positive comments about our child's development.
We have never been so happy with childcare before.
