About Me
Hi, I am 34 years old and I live in Whickham with my fiancé and 2 children. My daughter is 6 and attends Whickham Parochial Primary School and my son is 18 months old. I have lots of previous experience childminding/babysitting, I worked as a nursing assistant for 12 years (6 years adults, 4 years children and also 2 years on a maternity unit including delivery suite, postnatal and antenatal units). My Experience
I used to work part time in a nursery after I had my eldest daughter looking after children from 0-5 years old. After this I spent 6 years training on an adult surgical ward and then went on to work on a Maternity Unit and fully trained on delivery suite, antenatal care and postnatal care for 2 years, I also worked on a children’s ward and was employed to carry out clinical trials on children with cancer. I am fully trained in paediatric first aid and I have a full DBS check. I own my own car (7 seater) and I have a full clean driving license. I have also been employed previously as a nanny (unregistered) doing school pick up and drop offs.
My Qualifications
I have successfully completed an Access course in Health and Social Care Professions. I am also over half way through a Psychology degree part time with The Open University.
My Availability
I am happy to be available on an adhoc basis or long term. I can be available most days and can accommodate most required hours. I have no set minimums therefore I can be flexible to your needs. I am happy to provide care at either my house (you are welcome to visit prior) or your home. I can also provide overnight care. I can do school pick ups from Whickham Parochial and also Stepping Stones Nursery in Swalwell as well as others if local. Rachael has looked after my 2 year old daughter on a couple of occasions now. My daughter took to her instantly whereas my daughter can often be quite standoffish with new people. I feel confident that my daughter is safe and well looked after in Rachael's care.
