About Me
I am a registered child minder, working in my home with another registered child minder. We have been minding for 15 years and prior to this both worked in day nurseries.
I am a single parent with two grown up chlldren.
I have lived in Colliers Wood for more than 25 years now, so am aware of provisions available in this area eg schools, parks, libraries etc.
I have a car fully equiped with child seats, insured and used to take the children out when required.
My Experience
I have worked with children for 39 years. I started as a student working for the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham at 16 in a day nursery. I then qualified two years later and continued in the same nursery as a nursery officer. I was responsible for a group of 12 children aged from 12months to 5 years. My duties included planning and providing varied activities for the children, ensuring that all areas of their learning were met. Observation and assessment, Working in partnership with parents and liasing with other agencies involved eg speech therapists.
I then worked in Lambeth and was promoted to nursery group supervisor, giving me additional responsibilities.
I got voluntary redundancy in 1996 and went into child minding with an ex-colleague.
We have been working together successfully since then providing day care for babies from as young as 6 weeks to school age children. We have had children with special needs and also looked after children sponsored by the local authority. We often have families with us for many years as younger sibblings come along.
We provide a variety of play experiences in the home as well as taking the children out to expand their knowledge.
Although we have lots of experience we are always open to new ideas.

NNEB ( two year course in child development )
First Aid
Up to date with latest child care polices and procedures.
My Availability
At present we have vacancies on monday, wednesday and friday for under 5s
From September we will have vacancies every week day as we have children starting school.
