I am a responsible and caring childcare professional seeking a new challenge. I have four years experience working in a busy childcare setting, where in 2017 I contributed to us being given an ‘outstanding’ rating by Ofsted. I also have experience doing private ad hoc nannying and babysitting jobs for a number of families. I have always wanted to pursue a career in childcare from a young age. I have a very big, close knit family so I am used to busy, energetic environments and have always been around children. I have gained a number of qualifications throughout my career. These include a Level 2 and 3 NVQ qualification in childcare, Paediatric First Aid, safeguarding, and a number of other online courses. In my current setting, we care for children aged 0-5. I believe I have a natural affinity with them due to my energetic and caring nature. I enjoy working as part of a team, but I also posses the calm and accountable attributes needed to supervise and work alone. I hold a full UK driving license and have my own vehicle. I am looking for a company that will support my progression through my career and in return receive the hard work and efforts of someone who is passionate about the industry.
My Experience
- Tracey Thomas Childcare (September 2016 – present)
I currently work alongside a childminder as an assistant. My duties include, providing healthy and nutritious cooked meals for the children, taking them on daily outings to toddler groups and other recreational outings such as parks, farms, zoo’s and museums. I also change nappies, and work alongside parents/carers with potty training. I provide age appropriate games and activities that will help boost the children’s development in all areas. I plan activities based on our EYFS ‘theme of the month’, complete observations and reports for my key children which are accessible to the parents via an online app. I also do drop offs and pick ups to local schools and pre-schools. I complete ‘sound books’ with the older children in the setting, in order to help prepare them for the school transition. I complete daily diaries which the parents are able to read and provide any feedback. Currently in our setting, the children’s ages range from 7 months to 4 years.
- Private nannying/babysitting
As our setting is closed during the school holidays, I offer my nannying services to the families should they require it. I take the children on fun recreational outings with parental permission. I cook healthy meals for the children and provide parents with a detailed description of the day and send them any photos that I have taken with permission. I often do evening babysitting for a family with three young children.
- Secondary school work experience (2014)
I completed a weeks work experience in Jelly Tots pre school. My duties in this role included, helping clear up after activities, assist and supervise indoor and outdoor areas, contribute to circle and story time, and help encourage the older children with their phonics and writing.
