About Me

Hello, Everyone!

I'm Maria, and I'm an experienced, skilled teacher with Qualified Teacher Status who has taught both Primary and Secondary students for more than eight years.

I have taught in Mainstream Schools and Alternative Provisions (APs), including Pupil Referral Units (PRU), and a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) school. I have extensive experience of teaching classes, creating and delivering exciting lessons, and inspiring students to be the best versions of themselves.

I have an excellent teaching approach underpinned by up-to-date knowledge of pedagogy and a deep passion for all students to love to learn and succeed in life. I have a calm and understanding approach to tutoring, underpinned by years of teaching experience. I have excellent working knowledge of pedagogy, the National Curriculum, entrance examinations, and school policy and procedures.

I work hard to develop students’ confidence and explain concepts in a way that is clear and accessible to them. I create positive relationships with all my students, and teach them the art of working hard to get desired outcomes.

Successes tutoring former students include admission into a range of selective schools, increased performance at school, an increase in students’ reading and writing ages, and greater confidence at school for those students with SEN.

I am consistently praised for engaging lessons, excellent use of differentiation, and always having positive relationships with my students. I always put my students first and do my utmost to prepare them for a successful life ahead.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking, and travelling. I love going to the theatre and keeping up-to-date with current affairs, too.

My Experience

I hold QTS, having more than eight years’ teaching experience. I have taught both Primary and Secondary students, and have more than ten years’ experience working in the education field. I have worked in several schools, from large academies to small, one form entry schools, and from PRUs to SEMH schools.

I have worked as an In-person and Online Tutor for more than five years, too. I have tutored students from EYFS to KS4, and I have a wealth of experience tailoring the Curriculum to meet students’ individual needs.

I have extensive experience supporting students with a range of SEN needs, including ASD, ADHD, and Dyslexia, and I work well with parents and carers to create the best outcomes for all students.

I have supported students of all ages on a 1:1 basis, understanding their personal needs and creating bespoke schemes that are accessible, fun, engaging and challenging for them. I have helped students close vital gaps in their learning, gain confidence in themselves, and pass entrance examinations get into their desired selective school.

Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a Teaching Assistant, both in mainstream and special educational needs settings. I worked extensively as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant who helped pupils with ASD and behavioural difficulties access learning.

I have a calm and understanding approach to tutoring, underpinned by years of teaching experience and an excellent working knowledge of the National Curriculum and entrance examinations.

I work hard to develop students’ confidence and explain topics in a way that is accessible and clear to them. I create positive relationships with all my students and teach them the art of working hard to get desired outcomes.

I have extensive knowledge and experience of teaching students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and Speech and Language difficulties. I am kind, patient and work at students’ pace to ensure important learning isn’t missed, and that all have a good sense of ownership.

I offer a range of bespoke tutoring packages, all of which are centered around your child. My lessons are for students aged five to thirteen who need a confident boost; those who want to catch up with their peers, those with specific SEND needs, or for those who want to get into that dream school - maybe all of these! My lessons are for all, however big or small the need may be.
