My Summary
About Me
Hello
My name is Emma. I am from the north of scotland. I have been a nanny in London and bath for the last 16 months, before that I was In France where I taught English. I am reliable, energetic and fun, I have been brought up in a large family (I am the youngest of 4).
My mother runs a busy childminding business so I have been brought up understanding the role of childcare provider. I enjoy craft activities with the children, enjoy taking them out to activities. I understand the need for consistency and safety with regard to childcare.
My Experience
Recent Employment
Live in nanny- London and Bath
Children aged: G16 months, B3, B7
They no longer require a live in nanny.
I was first employed with them when they lived in London and I moved to Bath with them in August 2020.
My role has been sole charge for 3 children, now aged 2, 5 and 8. My working day was from 7am until 7pm and during that time I would prepare breakfast, get the children ready for school, prepare lunch, do the children’s laundry and look after the playroom. I would also organise daily outings and activities. Whilst the eldest 2 were at school and nursery I would take the toddler out to the park, the library and other activities. I also take the children to relevant appointments including vaccinations and haircuts. I collect from school and then after school activities include craft sessions and creative kitchen. I prepare supper for the children and bath the children getting them ready for bed and the hand over to the parents.
Throughout lockdown I was responsible for all 3 children all day. I managed their home schooling and created a structure and plan that kept them happy and secure allowing their parents to focus on the new challenges of working from home. I helped the family move house and was on hand to help with all aspects.
I create a fun and happy day for the children out with their school day, keeping them busy but also being sensitive to their needs. I have been caring and supportive of the children transition to new schools and a house move and helped the youngest develop into a lively bright toddler.
English teacher in Nîmes-France January 2019- July 2019
My school consisted of 18 children aged 3-13.
The children were only allowed to speak English. This position was mainly sole charge, however I did have a helper that came in to watch the children while I prepared lunch.
I prepared lesson plans, We sing English nursery rhymes, we played outside, we had mini projects, I.e paper Mache volcanoes. We went on trips to the local library. I took a yoga class every afternoon.
September 2015- Current
I have had experience with a new born, and continued care through all stages of her development.
I’ve babysat, this included feeding, changing, playing, taking her out for walks, and sticking to her daily routine. Safety is paramount, risk assessing situations comes second nature to me.
I am confident around young children, I am able to work out their needs and requirements.
Full Time Live-in Nanny- June 2017- September 2018
I was in sole charge of G9 and B12.
A typical working day would be from 7am till 7pm, with additional babysitting (3 evenings a week)
I would get the children up and ready for school.
Walk the dog for an hour.
Return home to take care of all the housekeeping duties.
I would prepare the evening meal, which varied from pasta dishes to simple meat and vegetables meals.
Mother would normally return home at 6PM, her dinner would be ready for her. I’d make sure all the dinner dishes were cleaned.
I would help the children prepare school clothes and school bags ready for the following day.
If the family were having a dinner party, I would lay the dinner table, prepare nibbles, and help with the actual meal.
Weekend Live-in Nanny- January 2018- August 2018

B4 has Williamson syndrome (life limiting illness). I had to give him medicine twice a day. Feed him. Change his nappy, clean his teeth (his teeth were like chalk), I had to watch him 24/7, as he struggled to walk and talk.

Get all the children ready for bed, then put them to bed, read each of them a story.
Give B4 his medicine and special milk.
