My Summary

My Experience

I am a 24-year-old trainee teacher, currently in the process of completing my PGCE (with QTS) in Primary 5-11 education. I have a 2:1 degree in Graphic Design and a foundation in Art and Design.

I am currently concluding my second placement and proceed with my third and final placement from mid-October till mid-December, meaning I have three months from now in which I would love to help/boost children academically in preparation for the next academic year.

Through my teaching experience I have really seen the positive impact a few extra hours a week can have on a child's academic performance - helping them grow in confidence, motivation and ability. Seeing progress in children I had given extra support to is such a motivating factor with in my teaching career thus far.

I have had plenty of experience with children outside of my academic endeavours. I was a nanny/personal assistant for the most lovely family during my time at University whilst completing my foundation and graphic design degree (4 years). When I began working for the family the children were 3 and 11 years old, I loved helping them with their homework or anything they were a little stuck on, seeing them progress academically over the years through my help was part of why I decided to pursue a career as a teacher. Babysitting in my local village in West Sussex for years gave me experience with children and new borns whilst I was in my school years, as well as having 2 younger half sisters. My Godmother is also a childminder and I have spent a lot of time over the years helping her out with the children. My older sister also has a 3 year old and a 0.5 year old. I help her when I’m around and I truly love looking after children.

Not only do I have months of experience teaching children in Primary Schools, but through my PGCE I've researched and created essays investigating how children learn etc meaning I have a very current and good understanding of how best to help children learn. Furthermore, I obtained an A* in Fine Art, A in History of Art and English at A level thereby feeling like I would be able to help others achieve similar outcomes in further education, A levels and GCSE's.
