About Me
Hi there, I’m Nicky, an experienced TA, childminder and nanny who has raised two happy, well adjusted children of my own! One of my children is on the Autistic Spectrum and through wanting to learn how to understand her ASD better, I took short courses via CAMHS which organically led me towards the path of childcare. I have two Level 2 childcare qualifications and a Level 3 diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools. I have extensive knowledge and experience within Special Educational Needs and Behaviour Management. I have worked in an early years childminding setting, taught one to one and small groups in both primary and secondary schools and been a nanny for a fantastic family, caring for their lovely twins. Many parents have told me over the years that I instantly ‘get’ their child. I take that as a great compliment. As a parent myself I know how hard it can be to find someone you can entrust your children with and to be able to walk out the door knowing they are safe and sound is a huge relief. That’s why I like to meet the children and parent(s)/carer(s) and spend a good few hours with them first so we can see if we are the right fit for each other and to get a good understanding of the expectations, routines and personalities of the family as a whole. My last enhanced DBS was with a Right At Home in 2020 as I trained as a carer during the Pandemic and went to elderly people’s homes to provide personal care, housework and companionship during what was a very difficult time for everyone.
