About Me

,

A quick update,
I am looking for some before and after school/nannying babysitting …. Ideally 6:30 to 8:30 am ….4:30 to 8:30 pm

Please see below for a more in-depth bio. The past summers I have been nannying and running a my own nursery for a private retreat for mums, babies and children.

My name is Rachael, and I am 30 years old. I am happy, focused, and a caring mentor.

I currently work at a charity where I am team leader/activity lead I am am Looking to get some extra hours in nannying/ mothers help :)

I previously worked a temp nannying job with a 16 month year old , I work 5 days week with a 12 hour shift, alongside this I cook for the family and take care of house hold duties and taking care of their 2 dogs. I moved back to the UK in June and have done nannying since this. I have worked for 2 families since, both have been temp jobs and very similar roles.

Before this I was living in Berlin as a live in mentor and running an international boarding school. I was in charge of 63 students and there welfare in term time. I also took on the role of activities coordinator and ran all boarding activities which I enjoyed.

I had my first nanny job in my second year at University; I looked after a family of 8, this was for a year, and the ages were 1 -11. I then moved home and became a nanny for a 6 months year old and 4 years old. Who I would look after 8 to 4 pm, Monday to Friday every week for the next 3 years. I am still very close to the family.

I would love to get back into nannying as I enjoy helping mum and dad with daily tasks and, of course, having fun and taking care of the child/ren. It is something that I really love doing. I would love to be placed in a family for at least two years.

I am very sporty and enjoy all sorts of activities; I have run many activities in my current role. I have great initiative, and I am confident in all task I do. I enjoy cooking and have cooked for my boarding students (63 students); I would be happy to cook meals for your family.

I also an ex-professional swimmer and would be happy to teach you child/ren to swim, it is something I am passionate about and a great life skill to have.

I have references (Nannying) in Monmouth that I am happy for you to get in touch with.

My Experience

I have good knowledge to provide support and guidance to all children and promote their welfare and well-being. In one of my pervious jobs was running the girls boarding house with international students in my care; I have to provide a safe, caring boarding environment for all pupils. I am the adult presence out of school hours, where I ensure school work is completed, pupils have good relationships with other students, and I am a role model.
I communicate closely with academic staff to ensure I am doing everything in my power to assist them in obtaining their desired academic results. I have a clear understanding of how to deal with various cultures and am aware of the respect needed when dealing with language barriers and cultural differences. I plan and prepare activities for students within an allocated budget. I make sure students keep their rooms tidy and organized, and personalized to ensure that they, along with myself, have created a homely setting to thrive in.
I was also in charge of a house where I managed aspiring athletes who competed in the 2018 Australia Common Wealth games for Wales. I had many duties and responsibilities in taking care of the girls. However, in this role, it was vital to develop strong relationships with the girls and make sure that they could approach me with any issue, plan downtime for them with their hectic schedules, and take any pressure off them if I could.
In this role, it has been important to have a home feel in the house but upholding a professional presence to the young girls I’m responsible for. I’m looking to build relationships with staff, supporting and developing more skills in a team setting. Using these resources for structure in the house and support for my allocated pupils. Having a clear understanding of the school's procedures and structure and keeping this ethos in the home setting. Creating a home setting was cooking healthy and homely meals that gave the athletes the nutrition they need to succeed.
I have a sporting background that can help promote the health and well-being of all pupils. I trained 6 hours a day whilst completing my education and managed to represent Wales on numerous occasions across the world. This fact helps me be organized, productive, and understand the importance of a well-balanced lifestyle. From travelling to Australia for Au Pairing and long holidays, I feel that this has defiantly made me more culturally aware and sensitive to people being away in another country for a long stay, making me empathize with other cultures.
