About Me

I am a qualified teacher with QTS. I graduated with a first class degree in Primary Education, specialising in Early Years in 2016. Since qualifying as a teacher, I have worked in schools and had my own nursery and reception classes. I have also run a Pre-School at a private day nursery. My biggest achievement to date is when OFSTED visited my Early Years Provision and rated it as ‘good' during my first year of teaching! I am a creative person and relish the opportunity to create open-ended activities and challenges for children to access at their own level, enabling each individual to interpret the learning in their own way. Learning through play is an area I feel particularly strongly about and plays a key role in my pedagogy. I believe that this style of learning helps to develop children's curiosity of the world around them and enables them to become independent learners – an attribute they will rely upon throughout their school lives and beyond. I am now currently working as a Reception teacher in a primary school, which I am thoroughly enjoying.
When I am not working I enjoy spending time with family and friends, travelling to new places and swimming.
