About Me
I am currently an Art Teacher for children’s art workshops. I have a lot of experience working with young children, both on a one to one basis and in a classroom setting. I am especially enthusiastic about working with children in a creative setting as I believe it is of utmost importance to their learning and development. I am an older sister and the daughter of a childminder so have grown up learning the importance of taking care of children and the dedication necessary for such a task.
I am 23 years old and grew up in southern Italy although have been based in London for many years. English is my native tongue but I speak fluent Italian, proficient Spanish and basic French.
I have a full driver's licence but no car and am very comfortable around any pets, with considerable experience with dogs.
I am friendly and outgoing and will love any challenge that gets thrown my way. Although I have the most experience in the arts with young children I am also very happy to help with any tutoring too.
My Experience
I have 6+ years of experience in the field. From teacher, sole-charge nannying to classroom assistant, babysitting and tutoring. I have included here a selection of my previous experience, however I am very happy to forward my CV should you require additional information.
Art teacher for Arty Party holiday workshops (June 2021-present): I run after school art clubs with 12-24 primary school aged children. During school holidays I lead full day art workshops with 30-35 children aged 5-10. Here we work from 9-4 creating arts and crafts with the children. Although we focus on creating fun and engaging art, the workshops also act as comfortable environments for the children to run around and play.
Sole-charge nanny at private residence (June-September 2019): I took care of a five year old girl before and after school. This included taking her and picking her up from school, taking her to after school clubs, supervising comfortable play and learning, ensuring a happy and safe environment, making her dinner and occasionally putting her to bed/bathing her.
11+ Tutoring (June 2019): I tutored a little girl in english, maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning for 3 weeks to help her revision for the 11+ entrance exams. This included lesson planning as well as teaching.
Teacher’s assistant at SEND Turney School (January-May 2018): Working three afternoons a week at a SEND primary school, I assisted the teacher in creating an engaging school environment for the pupils. This included lots of creative activities to help foster interest in learning and participating as well as supporting the specific needs of the children.
My Qualifications
Second Class Honours Politics and Sociology from the University of Bristol.
I have 4 A Levels and 11 GCSEs. All A*-A.
I am DBS Checked.
Paediatric First Aid trained.
Safeguarding Children Level 2
My Availability
I am looking for a temporary role until November/December. Definitely live out and preferably part-time.
