About Me
I am a 22 year old university student who is looking for a full/part time job as a babysitter/nanny! I love children and have enjoyed working as a babysitter/nanny for the last 5 years now, both as a job and looking after the kids in my family. Although I am not a parent myself, I try to implement 'gentle parenting' as much as I can, especially when it comes to responding to tantrums and misbehaviour. I think it is really important to provide a child with the correct emotional support, particularly during their developmental years, so that the suitable foundations are built for when they are older. I also love animals so I would not mind working in households with pets!
My Experience
I have been babysitting/nannying for 5 years now! In terms of my own family, my cousin has two daughters, who I am the 'designated babysitter', since they were a few months old. They are now 4 & 6, and I still babysit them from time to time.
In 2019, for two months I was babysitting for a family with 5 children, with a toddler, 6yr old twins, an 8yr old and a 10yr old, until they relocated to Spain. I would do some activities with the children and then put them to bed by the time the parents were home. It was hectic but I loved every minute of it!
In 2019 I started to nanny for two families, both with 6 year olds. One of the them was on the weekends, where I would stay with the child from 7am until the late afternoon/evening. I would help her complete her homework, give her lunch, do fun activities with her at home and also take to her to the park. For the other child, my role was quite similar however in this case I would also pick her up and occasionally drop her off in the mornings. I would also take her out for day trips during the holidays with her cousin who is 2 years younger than her.
My Qualifications
I have my GCSEs and A Levels. I am currently reading history at university.
