About Me
I am a third-year Anthropology student at Goldsmiths and I love meeting new people. I really enjoy the thought-provoking conversations and questions that young children bring to interactions.
I feel I am quick to establish friendly working relationships with both children and their carers and can flexibly adapt to meet the needs of a variety of families. In the range of environments in which I have worked with children, I have been able to find a balance between allowing them to independently develop their interests while ensuring I maintain safe boundaries for behaviour and activities.
My Experience
I have had experience working with many children of different ages in a variety of settings, ranging from public spaces to private homes. I take pride in providing a safe, calm and fun environment to meet each child and carers’ needs.
My experience includes babysitting for family and neighbours, both in the evenings and through the day. It has been a real pleasure watching these children grow into teenagers and to continue to develop personal relationships with them, knowing that I have played a small part in their development into lovely young people.
In addition to regular babysitting jobs, I have also spent extended time living and working daily with young children, while providing help with household tasks such as cooking, cleaning and shopping. During these times, I have had the opportunity to take children to playgroups and help to facilitate positive interactions with their peers. Although this could be challenging at times, it was extremely rewarding to help children find ways to make new friends.
I love helping children with their homework, creating a supportive environment and transforming it from a potential ‘chore’ to a pleasurable experience where they can enjoy learning. I also get a lot of joy from reading and playing with children both indoors and outdoors, helping them to explore and develop their own interests.
My Qualifications
I have three A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Spanish all graded B and 11 GCSEs all grades A-A*. I am now studying for a BA Anthropology degree, going into my final year.
My Availability
I am available to work before school Monday to Friday, Monday and Tuesday evenings and Wednesday and Thursday after school and evenings.
