About Me

I am Sophie, I have been working as a classroom teacher for the past six years and I currently work in a Reception class and as a private tutor based in Southend on Sea.
Every child learns in a unique way, so, I believe that every lesson needs to be personalised and tailored to the student`s individual interests and needs.
Similar to my own classroom, lessons will be fun, practical and engaging. For instance, phonics will be learnt through different games and I always spend 10 minutes of golden time to reward excellent work.
I specialise in KS1 and Phonics lessons.
I always try to personalise lessons alongside your child’s personality, for instance; using Peter Rabbit games.
Past tutoring experience have included working with EAL students in both KS1, KS2 and Reception. If you have queries please do get in touch.
My Experience
I have a BA degree in Photography from Nottingham Trent University and specialised in Early Years on the Billericay SCITT course.
I worked as a TA for two years alongside SEN children in KS2.
I currently work in a Reception class as class teacher, previously working in across Year 1 and 2.
