About Me

Let's start with my name, Siobhan (Shiv-on), One of those unpronounceable Irish names names you never knew was spelt like that. I am married with 3 children of my own and owner of 2 mad springer spaniels.
My interest in birth and the postnatal period led me to study the physiology behind it which in turn brought me to the work of doulas. I trained in 2011 and have worked full time as a birth and postnatal doula ever since. I have supported 100's of families through the antenatal process, labour and birth, then again through the postnatal period.
I have a wide range of experience including VBAC, breech, multiple birth, caesarean, water births, hospital & home births as well as support through loss. I regularly attend additional training days and workshops to provide the best up to date service I possibly can.
In addition to my doula work with clients I am also a mentor and coach for newly trained doulas with both Doula UK & BirthBliss Academy. I also facilitate training days and workshops for doulas and other birthworkers. I am a trained breastfeeding peer supporter and have volunteered at both The Royal Free, Hampstead & Watford General, Hertfordshire. I am also an active member of my local maternity voices partnership, a committee made up of users, user reps and health care professionals working to improve the maternity services for the families that use it.
