About Me
I am an Ofsted registered childminder, a member of the Professional Association for Childcare and the Early Years (PACEY) and have been minding children for over 12 years. Children are at the heart of my service and I offer a loving, safe environment where all children are welcomed and learning through play is actively encouraged.
Every child is unique and special and my goal is to make them feel happy, secure, independent and confident and achieve their full potential.
I plan my work around the Early Years Foundation Stage but I firmly value the importance of learning from first hand experience so there are lots of opportunities to cook, go shopping and gardening. Activities are not ‘set in stone’ and we react to the moment and follow the children’s interests.
I am proud to have been awarded a grading of 'Outstanding' at my first two Ofsted Inspections.
My provision caters best for families requiring before and after school care and as the service I offer is primarily geared towards this service now, at my last inspection (May 2022) I was inspected under out of school provision and received a grading of 'met' which was the best possible outcome for this type of inspection.
My Experience
I am also a qualified Primary School teacher having worked in local schools in the Newark area. I have also worked as a specialist teacher for Nottinghamshire County Council in the Schools & Families Specialist Service which supports children from birth to 5 years with special needs.
