Hi, my name is Nicole, but everyone calls me Nikki, married to John, I am a fortysomething mum of two, my eldest is 21 years old and at university and my baby (if you can call her that) is 15 years old! Our household is completed with Monty our Springer Spaniel dog, who is very gentle having been brought up around minded children. I am a SCSWIS registered childminder with a grading of 5 (very good) and over 13 years experience. Enhanced Disclosure Scotland checked. PVG checked. Registered as a Council Partner to offer the Free Childcare. A member of SCMA. Paediatric First Aider. Trained in Child Protection, Positive Behaviour Management and Learning to Play to name but a few. I just love children ..... To find out more just ask! Check me out on the internet. My Experience
I am a fully registered, qualified and insured childminder, I completed my basic training over twenty years ago when my son was a baby. In 2007 the family relocated to Scotland where again I had to complete my childminder registration. 2010 we converted the garage into a playroom as we were running out of room for toys! 2019 I achieved my SCQ Level 7 in Children and Young People. I just love children my passion and enthusiasum remain strong, just ask me! Working with me to bring up your child, you will find is a pleasure. My last inspection which you can read on the care inspectorate site, received a 5 Very Good rating. Some of my past parents have been kind to leave feedback on here, I have more references to read when you come visit.
During my years I have helped children deal with settling in, leaving my care to go to 'big' school, starting nursery, separating parents, moving house, bullying and other behavioural issues, starting to wear glasses, Dad's working away from home/missing parents, bereavement, special diets and much much more.
All children are individual and special, you just need to take the time to listen to them to find out what they need!
My Qualifications
My training is always ongoing however, In 2019 I passed my SVQ in Social Services, Children and young people. SCQF Level 7. I have attended many training sessions run by the SCMA (Scottish Childminding Association) which have included Child Protection, Scottish Social Services Code of Practice, Positive Behaviour Management. Council run courses which include Children first and TOP tots / TOP Start, Learn to Play. I am also trained in paediatric First Aid and have been since 1999.

Nikki was my daughters childminder from the age of 9 months old till 5 years old! She was cared for by Nikki full time Monday to Friday. Before finding Nikki I had always imagined Amy would go to a nursery for her childcare, however a friend suggested a childminder would be better for a child so young and more like a second family - "The Bruce's" were exactly that!
I visited a few childminders before meeting Nikki. I wanted someone that would have the same values as myself as would play a big part in bringing up my daughter. When I visited Nikki I knew I had found the right childminder! Nikki is so organised, nothing seems to phase her! The children are polite and show respect for her and the family home. The children alway have fun with Nikki, attending toddlers group, playing at the park and meeting with other childminders in the community etc. Nikki's own children Scott and Katie are a credit to herself and husband John, lovely kids who are great with all the childminding children.
Amy speaks about Nikki all the time, she has played such an important role in Amy's life! My dad always tells me how good a job I am doing with bringing up Amy, and then corrects himself - how good a job Nikki and I have done!
I cannot recommend Nikki enough, she really is one in a million!

We, feel really lucky to have found Nikki. As childminder she is an extension of our own family and our daughter couldn't be in better hands !
Nikki is truly amazing and so supportive. Very flexible and easy going person. Our nearly 3 years old daughter is very happy to stay with Nikki. The hasn't been a day that Erica did not want to go to Nikki's house. Each Sunday night Erica can't wait to see Nikki again on Monday morning :)
Nikki make sure that there are plenty of opportunities to socialize with other children through toddler groups and the links she have build with other childminders in the area !
We highly recommend Nikki and hope she'll remain part of our daughter childcare as long as we stay in Tullibody :)
