My Summary

My Experience

I started out looking after my younger siblings, and family members. Which involved looking after multiple children at the same time, and some had troubling behaviour which means I’ve had experience with this from a young age, from ages of 15-19 and have had a lot of time to improve and develop my understanding in the fields of special needs children as well as understanding the needs and wants of all children in general. I then did a couple of months experience in a primary school, with some older children, year 5-6 so ages 9-10.
This widened my horizons and little and opened me up to working with children of a wider age range as I have had personal experiences in an out of school where I really could have used someone to look up to. I know some children go through a lot of emotional stress, that sometimes is in controllable, but I just really would like to help some children feel at home even with someone who isn’t one of their parents which is a hard thing to achieve.
I then went on to college and looked into my musical side of my self so I have a lot of creativity in me as I’ve performed my entire life, singing, dancing, acting, and drawing/painting! I love arts and crafts which is another thing that helps me work so well with kids, as I can help them use their imaginations and creativity, which I think is very important for children of all ages! I was a children’s performer for about 5 months before the travel got too much because of the long distance, but the job I had with them was amazing! I was singing and dancing and entertaining all the children at parties and charity events! Things that can make them happy and bring a little more sparkle into their life. I’m a big Disney fan, but I also love marvels and I’m a big advocate of children being whoever they want to be and believing in them selfs, so this helped my case in this job too!

I am now currently an out working nanny who cares for two amazing little children, ages 6 (boy) and age 4 (Girl). The little boy I care for has special needs, he has recently been diagnosed with autism. It is a challenge every day, and I never know what is around the corner but I enjoy every single moment because I know I am important to that child, and I make him feel safe and at home when his parents cant be there because of work etc. I am very enthusiastic about making him sure that I’m not going to leave and I have to be very comforting, but simple and a little stern at the same time, so he understand clearly what I am saying, that it may be a serious thing we are talking about but I am here for him. He has sensory needs, asd and some attachment issues which is why it’s very important for me to give reassurance, be kind and gentle always, but make sure I understand why he’s feeling the way he is etc, lots of skills and techniques I’ve learnt a long the way, and lots of barriers I’ve had to cross but I think that’s all part of being new in his life as well as getting used to working with special needs in more depth to what I have before. I have to deal with physical lashing out, (scratching, biting, kicking,spitting,pulling hair etc) on if not daily, every other day, and then dealing with his very heightened emotions, but all of this is just more of who he is is and it makes him that even more expressive, creative, he’s incredibly smart and brave, and has one amazing personality! These children are one of a kind and i really enjoy helping him and any other child in life, and to become the best version of them selfs. His little sister is 4 years old, and she is just like a lot of other 4 year olds, very unique in their own way, meaning she is crazy wild and runs me around like a mad woman so I need a lot of energy with her, she is so bubbly and creative, so kind etc, and this is what comes out of her personality when she is around a productive person which is why that is what I’m all about. Of course some people have bad days, but when I’m in these working environments I tend to leave it all at the door because my mind is completely on all my responsibilities for the children I’m caring for.

I bring all of this experience and personality, and drive to my work, and put in 110% everyday.

I would like a job that can give me sufficient hours and pay that can help me live a comfortable, live able life style. Just enough hours for me not to be struggle so much like I am now, as we have been affected quite severely by corona virus. So at the moment I’m doing 25 hours usually, it’s gone down to 12 so this isn’t sufficient enough for me to live on, as much as I absolutely love my job, and working with these children, I’m going to need something more.

I don’t drive but I am more than willing to travel within nottingham, but obviously the closer the better but don’t let that out you off as I am very used to traveling around for work.

My Qualifications

I don’t have any professional qualifications but it works out at 6 years baby sitting and nannying experience and I promise you I bring a lot of maturity and persistence to the job.

My Availability

I am available Monday to Friday, up to 8 hours a day, so that is 40 hours a week maximum, but I’m willing to work 30 hours minimum as I need full time work. I will work weekends only in notice as I am willing to do baby sitting duties too, but I need the notice in advance as I have other businesses I run on the side an family who live in Yorkshire so I like to visit on weekends when possible.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
• Nannying from £10.00 per hour (gross)

I have put £10 per hour for my nanny rates but if my hours are high enough I’m willing to go a little lower depending on the security of the hours.
