About Me
Hi, my name is Melissa, I’m 40 and I am an Ofsted registered childminder based in Elmers End, Beckenham. I have been childminding since October 2021 and prior to that worked as a pre school practitioner at a pre school in Beckenham since 2011. I am warm, kind and nurturing and ensure that all children feel safe and happy in my care. I am first aid trained and hold public liability insurance.
I have 4 children of my own. A 19 year old son who is away at university, a 16 year old daughter who is in sixth form and two sons aged 9 and 7. My children are very friendly and welcoming to all the children I look after! My older children both hold a DBS check.
The children I look after enjoy a home from home experience, a warm, friendly welcome, freshly cooked meals and lots of fun while learning through play. I have a garden which we use every day whatever the weather and enjoy trips to local music groups and baby and toddler groups. I am friendly with many local childminders and we sometimes get together so the children can socialise and interact.
My Experience
As well as having my own children I have been a childcare practitioner since 2011, having taken my Level 3 in Childcare, Learning and Development. I worked as a designated lead safeguarding officer at the pre school and continually add to my knowledge by attending safeguarding courses and updating my policies regularly. I was a key worker for many years so am familiar and up to date with the EYFS and the latest changes.
My Qualifications
I hold Cache Level 3 in Childcare, Learning and Development.
Cache - Setting up a home based childcare service.
My Availability
I currently have availability Monday - Friday for a school drop offs and pick ups from Marian Vian Primary.
I have availability during the day Monday - Thursday.
I am able to drop off and collect from Langley and St James’s pre schools.
I am available to work term time and holidays.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
£6 an hour. Snacks and lunch (if required) are included.
A small charge of £1.50 extra per day if an evening meal is required.
