My Experience

I currently work full time in an ASD school with autistic children from ages 4-18. I have been in this job for coming up to a year and a half now. I am very experienced in using PECS and communication books due to my work setting if needed with your children. I have experience in a nursery setting as well working in a family nursery during covid for the key worker children. I am currently looking after children from two different families when needed and I’m very knowledgeable on my nursery rhymes and how to dress up as a princess and pretend to be spider man.
I have always been around children growing up, I have helped to care for my auntie who is autistic whilst growing up, for example making meals for her, personal hygiene, toileting and administering medication etc.
There is also a little girl in my family who is diagnosed with cerbal palsy, I enjoyed spending time with her and taking her out places. I am very knowledgeable on how to deal epilepsy due to family members, however I am not trained in this and I am open to learning more and taking the right training if this is something you and your family would like me to be trained in. I am also confident on how to feed someone using a G tube (peg feed) due to a family member. However I am not trained in this but I would be more than happy to attend training sessions if needed.
I would also be willing to get references from parents of children I have looked after before if you require this.
