About Me

My energetic personality has enabled me to keep in touch with my inner child often enjoying running around and playing imagination games. I think imagination is so important for children and I thrive for trying to encourage all ages to enjoy imagination play as much as I do.

I also have first hand experience with children on the spectrum. Growing up with my little brother being autistic, which then inspired me to work in both schools and preschools doing 1-1 support for children who may need it.

My Experience

Acorns day nursery -
I worked in acorns day nursery in the hive room (aged 2-3)
We’re a busy room with up to 16 children on a 1-4 adult to child ratio. Carrying out duties such as changing, meal prep, activities prep, phonics.

Newton poppleford preschool (little popples) -

From May - July 2021,
I was doing mainly 1-1 help with a child who needed some extra help.

From September - July 2022,

Through this year I had 4 key children which I would assist them in any progress they might be struggling in. This includes 1-1 sessions in a quiet area to do sensory play, reading books or physical development such as throwing and kicking balls depending on the child and their specific needs.
This all included changing the child’s clothes, nappy’s etc and being overall the friendly face they can easily approach with anything!

Newton poppleford primary school -

I helped out on a temp contract working 2 mornings a week in a year 3 class. Primarily working with a autistic child who needed some extra support along with others on the table who struggled in some subjects.

I loved this role and grew a strong bond with each child and the teacher. I did this not only through helping them through their subjects but when on break time duty I would play football, engage in imagination play and overall play.

Windmill nursery -

I also have experience working with children from 18 months to 5 years whilst earning my apprenticeship.

I was solely in charge of looking after a group of 10 children 3-5 years for 10 months. Including planning activities for sensory play, art activities and physical exercise games.

I also have experience in the toddler room (18 months - 3 years) and feel confident on helping them to develop.
I also have experience in nappy changes.

My Qualifications

SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 7.
