My Summary

My Experience

I am an Early Years school teacher with 27 years experience and 2 years as a Home School Link Worker. I am also a mum of 4 boys. When I was first considering my career path my other passion was midwifery. It is my passion for caring for children which has drawn me to change careers and focus on Nannying.

I enjoy working in busy environments where I can add value. I believe the transferable skills and experience I have developed during my teaching career whilst also raising a family of four sons has positioned me well to adapt to new challenges. I have enjoyed every moment of my career to date preparing children for the world to always be curious and confident in who they are. I always remain committed to putting families and children at the centre of my working life. I Engage with children on an individual and group basis to build positive
relationships with them. I can help children complete homework assignments and
school projects. I encourage children to be understanding and patient with
others. As an Early Years teacher, I am aware of the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of children at different developing stages.

As a Home School Link Worker, I support, guide, and teach, parents, and pupils to reduce any current stressful situations and to encourage the families to build closer relationships to prevent any future difficulties. In my role, I have had to address various health promotion ideas and safeguarding is at the centre of my day.

For the last 2.5 years, I have had the privilege of Nannying a little boy since he was 10 months old. I provide a safe, healthy, loving, and fun environment for him to grow and thrive. I administer one-on-one care and meet the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of him.

In addition to my career, I have a depth of lived experience as a parent of four sons which has positioned me well to adapt to whatever happens in family life and has developed my planning skills as well as being confident in making decisions in the moment. I am confident in supporting parents with feeding, baby-led routines and providing strategies to aid any challenges in parenting for example coping with a baby with colic.

I have had the privilege of being the birth partner to two of my friends and gained a huge insight into having the expertise to remain calm, multitask and provide emotional support in stressful situations.

I am currently DBS and First Aid Trained under my role as Early Years Teacher and should a position arise I would be willing to get these elements certified independently.

My Qualifications

• Bed Hons RE in Primary Education 2:1 Chichester University 1992-1996
• 2 A Levels RE and Social Biology Collyer’s Sixth Form 1990-1992
• 7 GCSE’s Grades A-C incl Math and English Literature/Language and Child Development. Hazelwick School 1986-1990

My Availability

2-3 days a week.
I will still have the little boy I nanny on Wednesday from 7.30 am until 9 when I will drop him at Nursery school. I will be free from drop off onwards.

My Fees

• Nannying from £16.00 per hour (gross)
