My name is Darcie, I am 21 years old and my favourite things to do in my spare time are: look after my array of tropical plants, spend time with friends and family and make memories! I love to be around nature and animals, so I really enjoy farms, zoos, coastal and forest walks! I am a driven individual with a passion for adventure and inspiring others. I always try to incorporate this into my work with children so they can learn new and exciting things through hands on play or thinking and researching.
My Experience
I have previously worked in a day nursery for 3 years; My role at nursery consisted of maintaining a clean, safe and nurturing environment for up to 24 children ranging from the ages 5 months to 4 years old. I had also effectively interacted with the children in order for them to work towards their age-appropriate milestones, and collaborated with 3 other caregivers to achieve this everyday. I have also babysat children in the daytime, which has allowed me to take them to magical places such as soft play, farms, zoos and parks, giving them a healthy, adventurous learning experience. When babysitting in the evening it has allowed me to understand each child’s care routine and specific needs. By acknowledging this, I have been able to guide the children and maintain a safe and secure environment around bedtime. I have also cared for children from the ages 6-9 years old; babysitting and taking them to and from activity clubs.
