My Summary

My Experience

This summer I worked at Sussex Baby Lab conducting Infant research. This experience included working with parents and their babies (4-8 months) and making research experiments a fun and interesting activity for them and their babies to take part in.

Last year I worked as a volunteer in the Children’s Psychiatric department at Motol Hospital in Prague (one of the largest hospitals in central Europe!). I was working with children who had additional needs, and was responsible for coming up with fun interactive games as well as responding to difficult situations calmly and tactfully.

Last summer I was an intern at the Children’s Crisis Centre in Prague, a non-profit organisation with many years of experience in providing care to vulnerable children. I learned to carry out standard procedures in cases of endangered children, and analyse their behaviours for documentation.

For two summers I was a member of staff at an English educational camp run by the Evangelical church in collaboration with the First Presbyterian Church of Annapolis in the Czech Republic. I worked as an English to Czech interpreter, which meant I had to communicate effectively to both children and adults.

My Qualifications

Bachelor of Science, Psychology - University of Sussex, September 2021- July 2023
Currently in Year 3. Achieved a First Class average (78%) in Year 1, First Class average (73%) in Year 2.

Obtained the bilingual International Baccalaureate diploma with 40 points, a feat typically achieved by only the top 10% of students worldwide. Studied English, Mathematics, Czech, Drama, Psychology and Biology.

IGCEs in Mathematics, Czech and English, completed at the English College in Prague.
