About Me
I'm a retired music agent, a mother of 2 and grandmother of 5. I brought up both of my children alone. My youngest grandchild is 11 yrs and she is home educated. I have plenty of time on my hands now and would love to spend some of it using my lifetime experiences, and passing some of this on to young people. My daughter is physically disabled and my son is mixed race, which gives me personal insight into some of the problems and discrimination facing many young people today. I'm a compassionate, intelligent, kind, reliable and trustworthy person who wants to be useful in society.
My Experience
I've spent much time with my home-educated granddaughter and have taught her how to sew and knit, gone cycling with her regularly and taught her basic grammar and spelling. I also have a 15 year old grandson who has autism and have spent a lot of time with him through the years. Having brought up both of my children single-handedly and helped out with childcare with all 5 grandchildren, whose ages range from 11 to 27, I feel I have enough experience to be an excellent babysitter.
My Qualifications
I have DBS Certification. I don't have any official qualifications in childcare other than experience bringing up my own children and helping with grandchildren. I have 5 GCE 'O' Levels, including Maths, English Language, English Literature, Dressmaking and Cookery. I completed 2 uears of a Drama and English Degree at Worcester College of Higher Education (now Worcester University).
My Availability
I can be available some late mornings and most afternoons and some evenings and weekends. Occasional Sundays can also be discussed.
