Hi,
My name is Alison and I am an enthusiastic individual who has always (from a young age) wanted to work with children - supporting them, creating fun activities for them to enjoy and being there to care for and listen to them.
I am a Principal Teacher in a primary school with a nursery attached so have a great deal of experience in working with children that are a variety of different ages. I believe that relationship building is key when working with children and I would ensure that I work hard to build up that relationship with your children that are in my care.

My Experience
As stated above, I am a Principal Teacher in a primary school meaning I have a bachelor of education degree with honours which I received at the University of Strathclyde. Due to my degree, I have worked in a range of different nurseries and schools in a wide variety of locations. I am currently completing a mental health first aid training session where I will receive a qualification to become a mental health first aider within my work. I am also waiting to complete my first aid training in work. I issue medication and a large part of my remit is to ensure all of our children get the right medication at the right time. I would be extremely competent to support your child/children with any medical needs. I also have great experience in working with children with additional needs - including children who are non verbal and use visuals to communicate. As a result, I would be able to ensure I can provide the best childcare for those children who have additional needs also.
My Qualifications

- Mental Health first aider
- Currently completing a masters in middle leadership part time
- Awaiting my first aid training
My Availability
Due to my full time job, I would be free evenings and all days at the weekend. Would be happy to do overnights at the weekend when required. I would also be happy to be contacted last minute as I appreciate childcare can be needed at any time and sometimes can be hard to plan in advance for.
