About Me
Hi :) I'm a final-year student at the University of Bath, and have been babysitting for five years. I love taking care of children and seriously believe in the importance of care, and the lasting influence it will have over a lifetime. I aim to work with children after I graduate, and am studying a childhood-related degree.
I'm gentle, sensitive and patient, and have developed lasting bonds with the families of children I've cared for. My caregiving style is gentle and kind, whilst still being firm and discipline-focused.
My Experience
- 6 months working as a full-time child caregiver in a children's home in Johannesburg, South Africa caring for neonates, young babies and children up to age 7 -> extensive neonate experience, healthy & safety training, training in basic administration of medications and care of children with complex healthcare needs. (01/2021-07/2021)
- 5 years of babysitting experience, caring for children ages 0 to 10 years old. (2016-2021)
- Nursing shadow placement on the Children's High-Dependency Unit (CHDU) at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London (07/2019) -> shadowing the paediatric nurses and observing patient care.
My Qualifications
- I was trained by the children's home in health & safety, child safeguarding, the basics of child development, medication administration and care of babies with additional healthcare needs such as HIV/AIDS, learning disability, neonatal abstinence syndrome.
- I'm bilingual English-French, as I grew up abroad and completed my education in French schools.
- French Baccalaureate : 14/20
My Availability
Generally I'm available Thursday evenings, as well as Friday all day, and some evenings for babysitting.
