My Summary

My Experience

Last semester, I was studying abroad in the Netherlands. As part of my course, I was involved in an internship where I was teaching English to Dutch primary school pupils three days a week across several primary schools. The internship ran over a 14-week period and I was working with pupils aged 4-12 years old. I was responsible for lesson planning and ensuring my classes were engaging for varying levels of English. Overall, it has been such a rewarding experience and I have built strong relationships with both my pupils and classroom teachers. I have developed communication and leadership skills as well as learning how to present myself in a professional manner. As part of my teaching course in Glasgow, I have also had experience as a teaching assistant in Scottish primary schools. My responsibilities included helping groups of children with reading and writing tasks, monitoring behaviour in the classroom and supporting children with learning difficulties. In my free time, I have helped out in P.E, dance, and swimming classes. This has allowed me to gain experience with active learning in different settings and work with toddlers through to teenagers.

My Availability

I am available to work in the afternoons and evenings during the week and at the weekend. I am flexible and happy to negotiate hours!
