About Me
Hi, I’m Katie and I am an Ofsted registered childminder based in Upton, Wirral.
I have 2 daughters of my own aged 9 and 6 and I am passionate about the development of all children and helping them reach their full potential.
I live within walking distance of Upton Village and the local schools, shops and playgroups. I am also conveniently located just off junction 2 of the M53 which means that there are excellent transport links to both Liverpool, Chester and Manchester just 2 minutes away. I am a 5 minute drive from Arrowe Park Hospital.
I follow the EYFS and enjoy teaching children through play. I love to spend time outdoors and have a fully equipped garden with a climbing frame, mud kitchen and water and sand play tables for the children to enjoy.
I also take the children regularly to local play groups and outings to the beach and parks to explore our beautiful peninsula. This helps give the children an understanding of where they live and to have fun in the great outdoors.
I work in partnership with other local childminders and regularly meet them in parks and playgroups. This helps the children’s communication skills and allows them to make new friends.
All children in my setting enjoy learning about different topics each term. I plan and create stimulating activities for children of all ages to enjoy whilst they are with me. We regularly bake, cook, do arts and crafts and explore different tuft tray/messy play activities too. For pre school age children I will work with the children and families to ensure that they are ready for school and have a smooth transition.
I provide high quality care for babies. I have a well equipped play room with lots of sensory toys for younger children as well as home comforts too, so parents can feel assured that their precious little ones will be looked after in a nurturing, stimulating environment.
Having previously worked for a local children’s charity for 10 years, I know how important it is for parents to have affordable, flexible childcare to suit both their needs and the needs of their children. My Experience
I obtained a degree in Business Studies in 2007 from Sheffield Hallam University.
After travelling around the world once completing university myself and my now husband, moved back to the Wirral. Having grown up here we knew it was the place we wanted to settle and one day start a family of our own.
I have always been passionate about helping people and making a difference which is why my career first led me to the charity sector where I worked for a local children’s charity for nearly 10 years, helping to make a difference to disadvantaged and disabled children’s lives.
Becoming a mum myself, I was fascinated and enjoyed every age, stage and milestone that they achieved and wanted to learn more about children’s development. This is why I embarked on studying further about Children’s development and achieved my level 3 in home based childcare.
The global pandemic forced me, like millions of others, to home school my then 3 and 5 year olds. This is where I developed a real passion for creating stimulating learning experiences, so not only are the children learning but they are having great fun at the same time. So, I decided it was time for a career change and I have never been happier!
Having myself used a fantastic local childminder in the past for my own children, I am aware of the need for great quality, affordable, flexible childcare for busy working parents.

PACEY Member - Being a member of PACEY (Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years) allows me to regularly attend online training and seminars to keep me fully up to date with any changes in regulations etc to ensure I provide the highest quality childcare.
My Availability
Monday - Thursday (Term Time Only) from 8am-5:00pm.
