Hello Parents,
I am Thea, I am 26 years of age and I hold a BA with first class honours in Early Years with Enterprise. I am currently a trainee special education teacher at a school in Bedfordshire undergoing my QTS and PGCE.
My experience with children ranges from 6 months - 14 years and I have worked in a plethora of different child-centred environments from schools to forest school nurseries ( and many more!).
I would consider myself trusting, confident and truly in love with my work when it comes to caring for children. I believe that children play a vital and important part as active and independent learners when it comes to their own development and education. I strive to build healthy and strong bonds not only between me and the children but with the parents and families I have the pleasure of working alongside as well.

My Experience
As for experience, when in Leeds, I had the opportunity to look after a little bundle of joy( aged 2) and another wonderful child (aged 6) whilst studying for my degree. I have since had a ‘hotel nanny’ role with the second child and their baby sister (aged 1) back in London.
I have also worked as a child’s party host, entertainer and sports coach which has given me a vast abundance of knowledge in regards to play, games and outdoor/physical activities.
I managed an after school club for 3-11 years olds in a mainstream school in Leeds which enabled me to build great functional partnerships with parents, the school and outside agencies to better the care and support offered to the children. Alongside this job, I worked in a summer school/camp with 3-7 years old which helped me develop my pedagogy and put child initiated play at the heart of everything I do.
I have babysat in both London and Leeds for many different families, on a reoccurring basis and feel I have built long lasting relationships with every family I have worked with.
I have carried out placements in a nursery and reception class in two outstanding schools, worked with a Reggio Emilia setting and a forest school which has opened my eyes to a variety of different learning types and allowed me to better my understanding of child development, as a whole. As well as securing a job in a a children’s centre in London, working with babies through to pre-school age.
In my current role, I am a trainee SEND teacher. I am in charge of my own class and have carried out a 6 week placement period in a mainstream year two setting. I am on my way to achieving both my QTS and PGCE.
My Qualifications
I am undergoing my QTS and PGCE. I have a BA with first class honours in Early years and Enterprise, Level one introduction to forest school, paediatric first aid, as well as other training courses in a range of areas within the education and early years sectors e.g. safeguarding children (advanced) level 2, persona dolls training, trauma informed practice and keyword signing.
I have my DBS on the update system.
I also have A Levels in creative writing, psychology, media studies, photography and English literature and language (A-C) and 9 GCSEs (A-C).
My Availability
I am available for babysitting roles in the evenings and on weekends and nannying on holiday periods. Depending on distance to jobs I may need a taxi as I do not hold a driving licence.
